Chairman of KNPI Bintang Mountains Calls for Safe and Peaceful Regional Elections

Ahead of the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada) which will be held in the Bintang Mountains Regency and all regions in Indonesia, the Chair of the Indonesian National Youth Committee (KNPI) appealed to the entire community to maintain security and peace during the election process, Wednesday 11 September 2024.

In his statement, KNPI Chairman Fransiskus Kasipmabin and representing all the youth of the Bintang Mountains invited the entire community to support the 2024 simultaneous regional elections with integrity, quality and success despite different choices.

“Pilkada is a democratic momentum that we must maintain together. Let’s create a safe, peaceful and conducive atmosphere, so that the entire process can run smoothly,” said Fransiskus Kasipmabin.

He also reminded all parties, both candidate supporters and the general public, to stay away from provocative actions that could disrupt the security and social security situation.

“The success of the regional elections is not only seen from who wins, but how we as residents of the Bintang Mountains can show maturity in politics and maintain brotherhood so as to create a safe and peaceful security and social security situation,” he said.

The chairman of the KNPI also appreciated the performance of the TNI-Polri and the Cartenz 2024 Peace Operations Task Force in the Bintang Mountains in maintaining security during this time and during the upcoming regional elections.

“We believe that the TNI-Polri and the 2024 ODC Task Force will guard and oversee the running of the Regional Elections well, so that people feel safe and comfortable in exercising their right to vote,” he added.

It is hoped that this appeal will make the people of the Bintang Mountains aware of the importance of maintaining order and peace for the success of honest, fair and democratic regional elections.
