“Diversity is a Gift: The Closeness of Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops Task Force Personnel to Papuan Children Strengthens the Spirit of Diversity”

Timika, Central Papua- Monday, 02 September 2024, was a day full of joy under the blue sky of Timika, Central Papua. A group of Papuan children gathered enthusiastically in an open field, their eyes sparkling following the movements of a drone flown by Bripda Ragil, a member of the Cartenz-2024 Peace Operation Public Relations Task Force.

Every time the drone rose into the air, their laughter broke out, spreading genuine happiness throughout, as if inviting everyone there to share in the happiness.

The joy of Papuan children is a heart-warming sight. They watched the drones in awe, as if the tiny flying objects were carrying their hopes and dreams into the sky. Their innocent laughter and pure smiles reflect priceless sincerity, showing the natural beauty of hearts that have not been tarnished by the harshness of the world.

The presence of the Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops Task Force personnel among the Papuan children is not only carrying out their duties, but also strengthening the emotional relationship between the authorities and the community. This closeness that exists gives new hope that there is no distance between us, because we are all one, the owners of the archipelago, Indonesia’s beloved heritage land.

On this occasion, the Head of the Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops Public Relations Task Force, Police Commissioner. Dr. Bayu Suseno, S.H., S.I.K., M.M., M.H., revealed that this activity was part of a series of social service events carried out by the Women Police (Polwan) Ops Damai Cartenz-2024 in order to welcome the 76th anniversary of the Policewomen. This social service activity was carried out at the Mimika Care Foundation and the Yapeda Timika Orphanage, in the Mimika Baru District.

“They were very happy to see the drones flying, and seemed familiar with the Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops Task Force personnel. This was a moment that showed that being different is not a problem, diversity is a gift, we are the same, we are one Indonesia,” said Police Commissioner. Dr. Bayu Suseno.

Furthermore, Police Commissioner. Dr. Bayu Suseno hopes that Papuan children will receive special attention from all parties, because the future of Papua within the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia lies with them.

“One day, these Papuan children will become golden pearls shining to illuminate Papua and look to Indonesia’s brighter future,” he concluded.

This activity is a real symbol of national unity and unity. In the midst of ethnic, cultural and religious diversity, we remain one in the spirit of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. What happened in Timika that day proved that differences are not a barrier, but rather a force that unites us all under the umbrella of the Red and White Flag.
