Head of Public Relations Task Force for Peace Cartenz: Radio Contributed Greatly to the History of Indonesian Independence

Jayapura- On September 11, Indonesia once again commemorated National Radio Day, a moment that highlights the vital role of radio as a communication medium that has long been an important part of people’s lives.

Senior Commissioner of Police Bayu Suseno, Head of Public Relations Task Force for Peace Cartenz-2024, expressed his views on this commemoration by emphasizing the great contribution of radio to the history of Indonesia’s struggle for independence.

Bayu stated that the role of radio was very crucial in the past, both through government-owned and private stations.

“The value of National Radio Day in my eyes is that in the past, information transmitted by various radio stations has proven successful in filling the joints of Indonesian people’s lives,” he said.

Radio not only conveys news, but also spreads the values of struggle, Pancasila, entertainment, and various drama programs that reach all corners of the country, including remote areas.

Seeing the development of technology today, Bayu also highlighted the importance of radio in continuing to adapt to the changing times.

He encouraged radio managers to remain enthusiastic in broadcasting information and entertainment, even though the challenges of the digital era are getting bigger.

“Hopefully in this millennial era, fellow radio station managers will be more enthusiastic. Make this changing era a challenge that must be conquered,” he said.

The commemoration of National Radio Day is a reminder of how big a role radio plays in uniting society and maintaining the spirit of nationalism, as well as being a part of Indonesia’s history of independence that cannot be forgotten.
