KKB is at it again: Burns 1 car and shoots the driver dead in Paniai
The Intan Jaya Armed Criminal Group (KKB), Leader Undius Kogoya, is again acting up in Paniai Regency by setting fire to a car and shooting the driver dead on Tuesday 11 June 2024, at 13.30. Wit.
Head of Cartenz-2024 Peace Operations, Police Commissioner. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, when confirmed regarding this incident, said that it was true that a civilian (public transportation driver) had been shot and a car had been burned in Timida Village, East Paniai District, Paniai Regency, Central Papua.
“The perpetrator of this shooting and arson was KKB Intan Jaya led by Undius Kogoya, who had been carrying out criminal acts in Paniai district.” Concluded Head of Peace Ops Cartenz-2024.
Meanwhile, Head of the Public Relations Task Force for OPS Damai Cartenz-2024, AKBP Dr. Bayu Suseno, in his statement, explained that the victim, named Rusli, (40), had his address at the terminal complex, Madi Village, East Paniai District, Paniai Regency.
AKBP Dr. Bayu Suseno said that a brief chronology of the incident was, based on information from the public, at 13.30. Wit, people who came from the direction of Enarotali Village and wanted to go to Kopo Village, East Paniai District, saw a car on the side of the road and it was on fire and the driver was slumped in the car and gunshots were heard.
“After that, a group of 10 KKB members were seen carrying long-barreled firearms coming out of the reeds on the side of the road, causing the people who saw the incident to be afraid and immediately return towards Madi village.” Said the Head of the Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops Public Relations Task Force.
AKBP Dr. continued. Bayu Suseno, the victim is known to have died and the victim’s body was in his car which was burned by the KKB.
“For your information, the victim’s body has been successfully evacuated by the Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops Task Force and Mobile Brigade Battalion C Papua Police to the Paniai Regional General Hospital (RSUD), said AKBP Dr. Bayu Suseno.
AKBP Dr. Bayu Suseno added that the Caretnz Peace Ops Task Force and Brimob Battalion C Papua Police had responded to the incident by visiting the crime scene and pursuing the KKB group.
“We emphasize that the Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops Task Force will continue to take firm and measurable action and law enforcement measures against KKB, the perpetrators of this shooting and arson,” concluded AKBP Dr. Bayu Suseno.
