Papuan Youth Figure Calls for the Importance of Maintaining Harmony Ahead of the 2024 Regional Elections

Keerom, Papua – Ahead of the implementation of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections, Kristian Moy, a Youth Figure from Keerom Regency, called on all people in the Papua Province to jointly maintain the security situation so that the implementation of the 2024 simultaneous Regional Elections can take place safely and peacefully. Kristian Moy stated that the Keerom indigenous people and all components of society in Papua should fully support efforts to maintain public order and security during the implementation of the 2024 Regional Election stages.

“We, the indigenous people, and all components of society in Papua Province, should support all efforts needed to ensure that the Regional Elections can take place safely and orderly,” he said.

Furthermore, Moy also appealed to the public not to be easily provoked by misleading issues that could divide unity.

“We will eliminate all forms of black campaigns that will only tarnish the face of politics in Papua. It is better to avoid groups that try to spread issues with the aim of destroying harmony among us,” he said.

Through his statement, Kristian Moy emphasized to all elements of society in Papua to unite and work together in maintaining peace and stability during the Pilkada period, for the sake of creating a successful and integrated democratic process in Bumi Cenderawasih.
