Police Investigate Gunfire Incident Carried Out by Unknown Persons in Lanny Jaya
Jayapura – The Lanny Jaya Police are currently investigating a gunfire incident carried out by an Unknown Person (OTK) against a member of the Lanny Jaya Police named Brigpol Johan Herik Sibarani (32) and a civilian named Adi Fallo (20).
This was confirmed by the Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Senior Commissioner of Police Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, S.H., S.I.K., M.Kom when asked for information, Tuesday (10/09/2024) evening.
The Head of Public Relations explained that the gunfire incident occurred in two different locations, namely in Dukom Village, Tiom District and Dugime Village, Niname District, Lanny Jaya Regency.
“The first incident occurred in Dukom Village at around 19.30 WIT, where the OTK came to a kiosk owned by Brigpol Johan who suddenly fired a shot that hit the victim,” said the Head of Public Relations.
After receiving information about the shooting, the joint forces immediately went to the scene and evacuated the victim to Tiom Regional Hospital.
“The victim was shot in the upper right chest and right back which caused the victim to die,” he said.
Not only that, the OTK returned to his action which was located in Dugume Village, Ninimae District, where the OTK shot a civilian named Adi at around 20.05 WIT.
“The victim was shot in the upper right thigh in a conscious condition and has been evacuated to Tiom Regional Hospital,” he said.
Meanwhile, Lanny Jaya Police Chief, Kompol Nursalam Saka, SPd, MM said that currently the joint forces are still on standby to prevent further action.
“Currently we are still pursuing the perpetrator and the joint forces are still on standby to prevent further action,” he concluded.
