Responding to the KKB Action in Paniai, TNI-Polri and Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops Task Force Successfully Killed 1 KKB Member

Joint TNI-Polri officers and the Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops Task Force responded to the KKB action which carried out shootings and burned down the School Building and a number of Kiosk buildings by giving chase and succeeding in shooting dead 1 KKB member on behalf of, Basoka Lawiya alias Kogoya Community who is the Aide to the leader of KKB Undius Kogoya, in East Paniai District, Paniai Regency.

Head of Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops, Police Commissioner Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, when confirmed, said, In the incident where a number of kiosks and schools were burned, the KKB also shot civilians and security forces.

He continued, We responded to the KKB action by giving chase and shooting back at the KKB. After a search was carried out, the body of 1 KKB member named Basoka Lawiya alias Kogoya Community whose role was KKB Leader Aide Undius Kogoya was found.

Head of the Cartenz 2024 Peace Operation Public Relations Task Force, AKBP Dr. Bayu Suseno in his statement also said that, after joint TNI-Polri officers and the Caretz Peace Task Force combed the scene, 1 KKB member was found dead and evidence had been secured in the form of 1 magazine, 1 telescope and 3 cellphones.

“It should be noted that the KKB group led by Undius Kogoya is a KKB group from the Intan Jaya area which has recently carried out security disturbances in Paniai Regency,” said AKBP Dr. Bayu Suseno.

AKBP Dr. Bayu Suseno also added that currently the joint TNI-Polri apparatus and Cartenz Peace Ops Task Force are continuing to be on guard to provide security guarantees to the community in Paniai Regency.
