Symbolic launch of movement to distribute 10,000 red and white flags in Central Papua

Nabire- In order to welcome the 79th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, the Central Papua Provincial Government held a symbolic launch of the Movement for the Distribution of 10,000 Red and White Flags. The event took place at Lama Nabire Airport, on Jalan Pepera, Nabire Regency, on Thursday (01/08/2024).

Apart from distributing flags, this activity was also enlivened by a people’s party, MSME exhibition, cheap market, and various competitions. These competitions include creative video competitions with the theme of independence, futsal competitions, pinang climbing, rowing boats, decorative boats, Yospan dance competitions, seka dance competitions, walking, street carnivals, vehicle carnivals, environmental and gate cleanliness competitions, and tug-of-war competitions.

This event was attended by the Director of Ideology Development and National Insight at the Directorate General of Political and Political Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs, Drs. Drajat Wisnu Setyawan, Acting Governor of Central Papua, Dr. Ribka Haluk, Central Papua Province Forkopimda, Nabire Regency Forkopimda, as well as thousands of ASN and the people of Central Papua.

The activity started at 07.30 WIT with a leisurely walk accompanied by yospan dancing from the Central Papua Governor’s Office to the finish at Lama Nabire Airport, which was the center of the activity.

Acting Governor of Central Papua, Dr. Rebekah Haluk, expressed her joy at this event taking place.

“I feel very happy because this activity is carried out with a leisurely walk which is also accompanied by the Yospan road,” he said.

According to him, this activity is very positive because it can foster a sense of kinship and togetherness and eliminate all differences between people.

“The Red and White Flag is a symbol of national unity and integrity, which we must uphold and respect. “It is hoped that the distribution of 10,000 flags will instill a spirit of nationalism and togetherness in every citizen of Central Papua,” he explained.

Ribka Haluk emphasized that Central Papua Province is an integral part of Indonesia, so it has an important role in maintaining the integrity and diversity of the nation’s culture. He invited all elements of society to fly the Red and White flag in every home, school, office and other public places.

In celebration of the Republic of Indonesia’s 79th independence anniversary, the Central Papua Provincial Government is trying to provide a special gift for the community by presenting a large-bodied aircraft which will later be able to operate in Central Papua Province.

“This is important for the progress of our region, especially since transportation access still depends on air transportation. “I hope for the prayers and support of the entire community so that this August large-body aircraft can start operating,” he added.

Drs. Drajat Wisnu Setyawan from the Ministry of Home Affairs stated that the movement to distribute 10,000 Red and White flags in Central Papua was part of a national program initiated by the Ministry of Home Affairs with the target of distributing 10 million Red and White flags to all regions in Indonesia from 2022.

“We hope that this spirit of mutual cooperation can strengthen the spirit of nationalism and national character of the Indonesian people, especially in Central Papua,” he said.

As a form of appreciation, the Ministry of Home Affairs through the Director General of Politics and General Government gave a certificate of appreciation to the Acting Governor of Central Papua, Dr. Rebekah Haluk, for the formation of a national mental revolution movement task force in Central Papua Province.

The event went lively and smoothly, marking the spirit of nationalism that continues to live among the people of Central Papua.
