Yahukimo Police and Operation Task Force Damai Cartenz 2024 Hold Reconstruction of Severe Assault Case Against Police Officer

Jayapura – The Yahukimo Police Department conducted a reconstruction of the severe assault case that resulted in the death of Police Officer Bripda Oktavianus Buaran.

Reconstruction in criminal cases is a method used by investigators to reenact the incident involving the suspects and witnesses.

AKBP Heru Hidayanto, S.Sos., M.M., the Chief of Yahukimo Police, stated that the reconstruction was carried out at the crime scene on the main road in front of Block B shops, Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency, on Monday, May 13, 2024.

“This reconstruction is an important part of uncovering other truths of the murder case to complete the evidence needed in the investigation, providing a comprehensive visual depiction of the incident,” said Chief Heru on Tuesday, May 14.

The reconstruction process involved five suspects identified as WK (19), AP (19), KS (19), AS (29), and FW (20), who reenacted the entire sequence of events from the beginning to the end of the incident, from the first to the fifteenth scene as occurred at the crime scene.

“The reconstruction of this murder case was strictly supervised by a joint team from Yahukimo Police and Operation Task Force Damai Cartenz 2024,” he added.

“Currently, two suspects, identified as SM and IS, are still at large and being pursued by the police,” he continued.
